The XEV 9S firing 7 seater Mahindra’s bold step into the family EV segment — a born-electric, three-row SUV set for a global debut at the ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru.
Mahindra is all set to expand its electric vehicle market with the global debut of the XEV 9S, a full-size, three-row electric SUV, on November 27, 2025, during the brand’s ‘Scream Electric’ anniversary event in Bengaluru.

The XEV 9S project a major milestone for Mahindra as its first born-electric 7-seater SUV, built on the company’s INGLO skateboard platform. Unlike models adapted from traditional internal combustion vehicles, the XEV 9S has been engineered from the ground up as an electric vehicle, enabling a flat-floor layout, extended wheelbase, and a spacious, flexible interior. The design ensures generous cabin space with improved second-row adjustability and enhanced third-row accessibility, making it ideal for family use.
Positioned as a premium family electric SUV with a commanding road presence, the XEV 9S is expected to blend space, comfort, and performance with the refinement and stability of a true skateboard-based EV design. While Mahindra has yet to release technical specifications, spy shots of the model have hinted at modern design elements such as connected LED lighting and a three-screen digital dashboard, similar to the setup seen in the XEV 9e.
Though battery and powertrain details remain undisclosed, Mahindra’s INGLO-based vehicles are known for large battery packs with ranges exceeding 500 km, suggesting similar performance for the XEV 9S. It is also likely to be offered in multiple variants, featuring both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) options.
The launch of the XEV 9S aligns with the first anniversary of Mahindra’s born-electric lineup, highlighting the company’s strategic push to strengthen its EV presence in India’s rapidly growing electric SUV segment.
With the XEV 9S, Mahindra aims to redefine electric mobility by combining size, space, and shared comfort with cutting-edge EV technology and design innovation — setting a new benchmark for electric SUVs in the Indian market.
