Jaguar Type 00 Electric GT: Its Bold New Start

Jaguar is finally getting ready to roll out the Type 00 Electric GT – a car that really is the most radical, most cutting-edge thing the company has ever made so far.

Originally meant to debut in 2025 but then getting bumped to 2026 instead, this launch marks a new era for Jaguar as a luxury brand that’s going all in on electric – no more fossil fuelled cars in the mix from now on.

A Design That dares You To Look Away

The Type 00 GT is a four door grand tourer that takes the very best bits from the future and from Jaguar’s heritage – so like that swooping fastback silhouette, and those butterfly doors that pop open like magic, and those interior spaces that are laced with the beauty of simplicity. Think of it as a look that’s part E-Type, part super modern – a real head turner in any setting.

Jaguar is promising the 00 will be its quickest car ever made by far, with some seriously impressive numbers attached to it – we’re talking up to 478 miles on a single charge according to WLTP, and you’ll be able to get 200 miles worth of range back up and running in just 15 minutes flat.

That’s seriously up there with what you’ll be able to get from a Tesla, Mercedes EQS, and Porsche Taycan.

What to Expect – The Ins & Outs

Battery-only trim, a tech-heavy cockpit, and fast charging on tap – that’s the type of offering Jaguar is going with for the Type 00 – all aimed squarely at the top end of the electric car market. The global price tag is going to start at around $130,000 with an expected price in India to sit between ₹1.4–1.6 crore – and we’re expecting an Indian market launch late in 2026 or early 2027.

The 00 isn’t just a straightforward petrol to electric conversion either, it’s the debutante for Jaguar’s brand new electric-first platform – and all the advanced tech you’d expect from racing in Formula E. Jaguar is banking on this car to be the thing that really starts to make people sit up and take notice of the brand again, all because of its performance, its innovation, and the overall prestige that comes with it
